I am going to write about smartphone under 100 dollars in 2018.
AT&T GoPhone LG Phoenix 2 SmartPhone
The AT and T LG Phoenix 2 is a smartphone under 100 dollars in 2018. Also, It is an amazing phone with all the features of the expensive phones for such a low price. The screen resolution is great, it has the ability to talk to text which I love, it takes great pictures and best of all it’s an Android phone with an endless array of apps available. It’s 4G so it’s very fast with the Quadcore processor and there’s plenty of memory on it (8 GB) with room for a micro SD card if you need more. Moreover, the battery is removable in case you need to reset the phone. It’s got an ample 5-inch screen with an 8 mp rear facing the camera and a 5 mp front camera for selfies.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini G730V Verizon – Blue
The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini packs a wide range of cutting-edge features in a compact, easily-portable form factor. The gorgeous 4″ Super AMOLED display makes your games, videos, and apps really pop, and the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system is slick, fluid, and easy to use. Also, it comes with 8GB of memory (about 4.8GB free), which can be expanded by adding your own memory card. Moreover, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system is fluid, easy to use, and provides access to hundreds of thousands of apps on the Google Play store. So this could be one kind of cheapest smartphone for you or your family.
Zte Maven Unlocked 4g LTE Quad-Core Z812 5mp Flash 8gb Lollipop
Zte Maven is the another best affordable smartphone in 2018. Read the features about it:

DOOGEE X20 GSM Smartphone Unlocked Android 7.0 – 5.0″ HD IPS Display – 1GB RAM+16GB ROM – 5MP Dual Cameras – 3G Unlocked Phones – Gold
This is another smartphone under 100 dollars. For the price, I think it’s the best android phone for all. The product built in a nice box. One issue was that the box seemed a bit roughed up. There wasn’t any type of tape on the box which is typical to other products when you open them. Inside the box, you find everything that you need (phone, charging brick, charging cable, manual, and phone case which is nice)
The instructions could be improved as it doesn’t stipulate how to open the back in order to access the battery/sim card /micro SD card. I had to resort to watching a youtube video to open the back of the device as I didn’t want to break it without operating the device.
The device is on the heavy side. It’s a nice size.
Booting up and setup is good. If you included a microSD card with your first boot, it takes you to some instructions on how to utilize the card with your device. A 64GB card worked nicely for me.
Pre-installed Android apps. No updates; the device runs on Android 7. It works on AT&T. Should work on any network that supports GSM. It doesn’t support 4G LTE only 2G/3G. I hope this should be the best smartphone for you.
Nokia 2-8GB – Unlocked Smartphone Under 100 dollar
This is a great cheap smartphone for under $100. Sure it is not very good in the spec department but depending on what you are looking for it might be the right choice.
As mentioned earlier the specs are nothing special. It is definitely the weakest part of this phone. From personal experience, the performance feels like on par with a Samsung Galaxy S5 or an iPhone 5s. If you are someone who always gets the latest phone, you will be disappointed.
I’ll highlight a couple positive things that this phone does well.
This phone is perfect for someone who doesn’t use any demanding apps. Forget about most games. Don’t worry though because of calls, texts, email, and chatting work perfectly. I see it as the best communication device under $100.
I’m using this device as a backup/travel phone. I currently have an AT&T and a T-Mobile SIM in the dual slots. The phone can switch between them on the fly.
Moreover, you can route calls and data between the two SIMs automatically or manually choose it each time you place a call.
Moreover, Most dual SIM phones I’ve used don’t handle it this seamlessly or they make you switch one line off before switching to the other one. The status bar shows the signal strength of each line and also the type of connection (LTE, 4G, 3G, etc…). Keep in mind that each frequency of the radio can only be used once.
This means if the 4G connection for each SIM you have uses the same frequency, then SIM #1 will get the priority and #2 will fall back to the next available. The Nokia 2 really shines in the dual SIM functionality.
The processor used in this phone is the Snapdragon 212. It does not use much power since it is not very high performing. This combined with the huge battery (4000mAh) means you really do get great battery life.
I have the brightness set to the max, wifi, and bt on, two SIMs, after a day of use (7am-7pm) I still have 75% battery left. This is on track to get me two days of standby, you could probably stretch it if you power down overnight or go into battery saver modes.
One neutral point of this phone is the storage space. It is only 8GB with about half of that available after the OS is considered since it has expandable storage I didn’t make this a negative.
Moreover, a microSD card is a must with this phone. Get a decent SD card and combine it with the internal storage. Moreover, The phone isn’t that fast so you won’t really notice much performance difference between launching apps off the internal memory vs the sd card.
Don’t get this phone to play games, fly your drone, or for the camera. Get this if you need the connectivity of dual SIMs and the long battery life.
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that Nokia has promised continued support for Android 8 and 9 for their new phones that were released this year, the Nokia 2 was included in this announcement as well.
